Artown Fever - Firewors @ThePiano
On the Fourth of July, Four world-class pianists dazzled an overflowing crowd at Steinway Gallery for the first of eleven performances at this year’s Artown. Fireworks @ThePiano featured four internationally renowned pianists playing classical masterpieces and original compositions on one of Steinway’s concert grand pianos.
Just two days later, Fuego restaurant was filled to capacity as a dozen singers recreated the second act of Die Fledermaus, and it was standing room only at Steinway Gallery on Sunday, Juily 7, as Nevada Opera performed “Opera Shorts”, nine micro-operas by living composers.

Houseis a Sci-Fi children’s opera the whole family can enjoy filled with catchy tunes, a hilarious story, and an uplifting message. The Reno Video Game Symphony joins us performing arrangements of beloved music from video games including the epic Dream Oath Opera from Final Fantasy V1.

The Great Grey Ghost of Old Spook Lane is a one-hour children's musical written by composer and jazz legend Anne Phillips. This kids musical has an important message about accepting people and their differences and features participants in the new Nevada Opera Youth Program.

Nevada Opera singers will provide an opening act to the July 13th “Movies at the Park” presentation of the Marx Brothers movie “A Night at the Opera.”

Enjoy a fun evening with friends and family at Wingfield Park as Nevada Opera presents the much-loved Opera in Blue Jeans. This year’s presentation features the second act of Strauss’s comic operetta Die Fledermaus with special guests singing opera and Broadway favorites. Food and beverages will be available from Silver Peak Brewery, or bring your own. Please note that glass containers are not allowed in Wingfield Park.
