House
July 11, 2012 - Hawkins Amphitheater, Bartley Ranch

House is a Sci-Fi children’s opera the whole family can enjoy filled with catchy tunes, a hilarious story, and an uplifting message. The Reno Video Game Symphony joined us performing arrangements of beloved music from video games including the epic Dream Oath Opera from Final Fantasy V1. The program also included a selection from Opera Shorts, all presented in this beautiful outdoor setting

HOUSE   is a ragtime opera about a socially awkward, magical being that travels through space and time trying desperately to in new friends. This opera packs ragtime music, virtuosic singing and social awareness into 40 minutes of fun for children and adults with important messages throughout for young listeners.

HOUSE has been performed in New York, Mississippi, Louisiana and Nevada. The Sci‐Fi features and computerized sound effects are big sells for today’s technologically savvy children. The show’s big  number Guacamole  in  a  Toothpaste Tube was recently used in a Taco Bell commercial in Mississippi.

House was also performed on July 13th at the Boys and Girls Club. While not strictly an Artown performance, we were delighted to have the opportunity to reach out to a new audience of the children and staff of the club, their mentors, supporters and parents.
