After studying music in Korea, soprano Kyung Sun Choi attended the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and became a Grand Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Since then she has performed in operas as well as concerts world-wide and has won a number of competitions.
Most recently, she had a recital in Houston and appeared with the the Remarkable Theater Brigade at Carnegie Hall in Opera Shorts. She performed concerts in Luxembourg in Europe as a winner of the 2011 Nei Stemmer International Vocal Competition.
Ms.Choi recently appeared with the Penial Concert Choir as soprano soloist in Gounod’s Gallia and as Rosina in excerpts of the Barbiere di Siviglia at Merkin Hall and Avery Fisher Hall, NYC and toured with them in the northeast. On the west coast, she sang Cio-Cio San with Martinez Opera in Madama Butterfly. Also, she was soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Seoul, Korea).
