“The only thing more expensive than opera is war.” Though the old saying may elicit a chuckle, the sad fact is that it’s true. The dollars we can generate from ticket sales do not fully cover the costs associated with opera. The cost of one single opera is close to $100,000. Season after season, our audiences enjoy the thrill of seeing period costuming, beautiful sets, and hearing glorious voices. The added expense of the orchestra and theater rental requires extensive donor development and support in order to sustain this beautiful art form in Nevada. Nevada Opera has been producing opera for Reno audiences and beyond for over 44 years.

We encourage you to consider support for the opera in the following ways:

• Become a season sponsor and enjoy recognition in our program.
• Buy an ad in our program.
• Consider including Nevada Opera in your will. Ask us for more details.
• Support the Nevada Opera Youth Chorus that provides the opportunity for children to learn music and perform Opera.
